Sown To Grow uses technology to identify the emotional themes and moods of a student's reflections. Based on these themes, prompts and student emojies, teachers are provided relevant suggestions for responses.
Our bank of responses is created collaboratively by SEL experts with help of technology. These suggestions invite teachers to acknowledge what students are sharing, affirm their feelings and thoughts and/or authentically engage with them.
Several response suggestions are provided for each reflection. Different response suggestions might make more sense than others based on the context of the reflection and based on the student-teacher relationship.
Teachers are invited to tailor and expand on these suggestions to help students with building capacity and/or to develop deeper connections with them. Response suggestions are meant to help both students and teachers increase their comfort level with emotional reflections.
